Chris Madrid is from Stanley, New Mexico, where he is owner of Madrid Forge LLC Chris began shoeing while attending Mesalands Community College Farrier Science Program in Tucumcari, New Mexico from 2003-2005.  Chris then after school apprenticed with three different farriers while starting his own business. Chris continues to work and compete with two of them to this day. Chris began competing in 2005.  He has been on the World championships Blacksmiths Horseshoeing Team 8 times and one year on the American Farriers Team. Chris has many achievements and accolades including but not limited to: qualifying in the top 10 four times and top 5 two times at the World Championship in Calgary, winning National Champion 2012,2015,2017,2020 and 2021 with the WCB and 2015,2023 at the AFA convention.
